Christmas Shopping…

A woman at work today just came in and told me that she’s stressed out about all the christmas shopping she has to do (I made the mistake of asking her how her weekened went) — after letting out a big sigh (inhale/exhale) — she started complaining about how many people in her family she still has to buy presents for. Americans can be very strange people. Why can’t they just stop shopping?!

It’s not like they don’t shop throughout the course of the year. Besides, most people have what they need and the stuff that they really want you can’t afford to get. Let’s face it, if money was no object and you could ask for whatever you wanted, most people would ask for a house or a car. However, since those things are out of range, in terms of price, most people just end up giving you junk that winds up in your storage bin. What’s the point? Do you really need another pair of socks?

This consumer spending economy in America is going to come back and bite a whole lot of people in the butt. I understand buying presents for young children. However, this woman’s “kids” are in their 40′s! When does it end?
