Girls Gone Wild….

I wasn’t going to write a piece on these high school students in Kenya behaving like hooligans, but this video caught my attention because now the girls are behaving badly. They even torched a school. Whaaaat? Women don’t tend to behave like this, so this suggests that something very wrong is taking place within the emerging younger generation of Kenyans.

I’m against democracy in Africa and this is another reason why. Have these students been given too much freedom, both at home and at school? i.e. too much “democracy”?. In a poor country, you must have strict controls, strict order and strict rule enforcement and all these things must be enforced with the stick and if need be, with the gun. You literally have to control the “primitives” and keep them under strict guardianship until the society becomes richer and until it modernizes; not before then.

I know people just want to come here and talk about business and more business, but businesses don’t operate in a vacuum. They exist within a society and if that society is lawless, unruly and disorderly, it will eventually affect your business.

Kibaki’s hands-off, laid back attitude is not working and I hope Kalonzo is taking notes. You can’t “rule” a poor, tribal country like this. You literally have to tame the primitives. Wapende, wasipende.

PS: Raila is against the re-introduction of corporal punishment in schools. I keep telling you guys that if Raila ever becomes president, his fantasies about using western style democracy to rule an African country will collapse right in front of his smiling face.

There’s a reason “God” made women nicer. You can’t have both species behaving like animals. Men already behave like animals and if women start behaving like men…well, God help that society. I mean, one species has to maintain some level of sanity for the sake of that societies humanity!

I think they are traumatised by the post-election violence. They believe they can get whatever they want thru violence.

On this one we concur, there should be strict discipline – Chinese, Indian, African style.

How can a nation develop when educational institutions are in ruins? Are these the same people we expect to be innovators in the future?

    Cane them, I say!

    Kenyanpundit:

    Really? yes, absolutely yes.

When I say that women are “nicer” what I mean is that women are less prone to acts of aggression and violence and this is largely a function of biology. Men have higher levels of testosterone. Science has shown that testosterone increases one’s propensity for violence and aggression. The evidence for this argument exists in all societies around the world: Most of the violent crimes are committed by men, not women.

Men and women are wired differently and recognizing this doesn’t mean that women (because they are “nicer” are not entitled to equality or other things). It just means that women tend to approach things in a non-violent way and this is very important for a socieities sense of humanity. You need one species to remain sane.

Look at what’s happening in china today. Since it instituted it’s one child policy, there has been an imbalance between the number of women to the number of men. There are too many men and not enough women. So, alot of guys can’t find wives and when you have a society with lots of single, unmarrried men, the crime rates tend to go up. Women have a calming effect on both men and on society and men who get married and have kids are less likely to “act out”. The Chinese are now very nervous about this artificial imbalance of the sexes that they have created.

    On being primitive:

Not only are Kenyans primitive, but Africans as a whole are primitive. Poor agrarian socieites tend to be primitive until they modernize, become richer and civilize. Europe and America used to be primitive, but they modernized. India and China are currently going through this process of modernization and they’re becoming less primitive. However, Africa as a whole, has yet to go through this process and thus, we remain primitives and more democracy is not the answer.

I dont agree with your definition of primitive.

I think Europe and America are primitive. Just look at their extremely violent history. America is the only country to have used a nuclear weapon.

It is very well known that the only reason the Europeans and their American cousins are not engaging in their usual violence against each other is ONLY because of the nuclear deterrent.

Africans on the other hand have always very advanced conflict resolution mechanisms. This was only lost during colonialism when they foolishly adopted the violent western ways. And biy have they paid the price!

You cannot in any way convince me that Westerners are more civilised than Africans. It is absoutely the other way round. Westerners are sheer brutes.

Do not equate technology or money with civilisation. You can have all the technology and money but still be primitive. You can be technologically challenged and poor and be civilised.

I have a different view of Student unrest in Kenya

First any proposal/theory should should explain

    1) The widespread nature of unrest (especialy in peri urban and urban schools)

    2) Why they all occured in Mid July

    3) The use of fire as a weapon

Mine is very simple. ITS ALL ECONOMICS…and its a world wide phenomena..

ITS nothing but FOOD riots manifested as school unrest

    THEORY

Beacuse prices of food have trippled in the last 3 years House Hold budgets in all middle and peasant classes have but collapsed.

Famillies have had to cut budgets of other things (including the amount of pocket money raeching the KIDS)..other pocket monies kids get from realatives/boyfriends reduced too because of the same reosons

SCHOOL food budgets are done at the ending of a school TERM…THUS when schools assemble again budgests of food fail since they DID NOT factor food prices……What do the schools do since they cannot increase fees mid term….THey start cutting on amounts/quality ..eventualy cutting calories per child

    JULY COMES…..
Its the coldest seoson/month of all throught Kenya…Kids (Fastest growing physicaly mentaly) get the COLD of july worsening the craving for food(calories)

Any small thing schools do… like switching off lights will triger a dissaster (Its just like an underfed army)..this explains the July theory..(… of course the silly proffesor Ongeri and Gov WILL see the CELPHONES/CANING only but NEVER see THE BUDGETS since they are above FOOD budgets….)

THE USE of FIRE as a weopon is of course its cheapness and deadliness and THEY SAW IT IN JANAURY

    CONCLUSION

FEED THE CHILDREN ¬Stop the romantics

Ps..Why i like this THEORY…because it uses current facts (world food crisis..wich is real) affecting urban and peri urban the most ….

HINT..Price of a 90Kg bag of Beans in January in NRB was 2500/=..NOW its over 5000

EVEN girls would NOT take cutting of CALORIES (FOOD) lying low

I agree with Josh. The white people are the most warlike people on Earth
Thank God they love sports so much…they watch, participate on all sorts of sports..that sometimes they Forget their WAR GAMES…..

AFRICANS are indeed the most humane of all…They DO NOT LIKE SPORTS…In most african people sports is meant for children…

DO NOT FORGET WAR IS A SPORT hence ‘war games’

    Lord:

Thats’ certainly an interesting theory, but Kenyan boarding schools have never been known to offer “haute cuisine” . So, I suppose what you are saying is that bad food, given in quantity is better than less food anytime.

If we are going to talk about economics, I think this over bloated government, where 80% of the countries GDP is going to pay their exorbitant salaries, is beginning to have an effect on the overall economy. The government has no money to spend on things that are important: things like public education, roads, etc, etc… and it’s going to get worse and worse as more money gets used up to support this bloated cabinet.

What’s the inflation rate in Kenya? 30%? that’s crazy.

    KE

Its 30% inflation yes….and food is the worst affected….The kids need calories…the weather is bad Hovering around 6~10 degree Celcius in all central Rift,90% of Central Kenya,All of Nairobi…….many parts of the country
The Bloated gov does not help of course its worsening

AND JUST LIKE you predicted things (ECONOMIC RIOTS) will cross from students to everyone except of course MPS

I am not entirely sold on the calories theory. I think they are just spoilt brats.

However, I am with you all on the issue of exorbitant salaries paid to parliamanterians. The salaries need to be slashed and the money directed towards better facilities in schools. Perhaps this could calm down the hormonal teenagers.

Lord, why do you think we have not seen demonstrations against MP’s pay? I mean, it is ridiculuosly high. US$18000 per month!

And when poor Kimunya proposed to at least tax them, they hounded him out of office.

Sometimes I don’t feel sorry for Kenyans. They deserve the leaders that they get.
