The Economist has an article on the growing problem in Somalia and it’s implications for tourism in Kenya. I’ve been accused of being a xenophobe, but the instability in Somalia is eventually going to spill over into Kenya.

If you look at most of the recent acts of terrorism that have been perpertrated on Kenyan soil, the source is Somalia:

- Attempted shoot down of Israeli airliner – those guys came out of Somalia
- U.S. embassy bombing in 1998 – they were links to Somalia & Sudan
- bombing of the paradise hotel in Mombasa – Same guys coming out of Somalia

It’s a good thing the jihadists are pre-occupied in Iraq, otherwise, they’d be swarming into Somalia like locusts.
