War of The Roses
“I was always a good housekeeper. Whenever I divorced I always kept the house”. – Zsa Zsa Gabor
I’ve become fascinated by this train wreck starring Akinyi and her ex-Nigerian husband, Chinedu. This hot mess has all the elements needed for a great soap opera, like:? Lots of money, lots of real estate, drugs, an affair with an ex-politician, a stint in India’s largest prison, Tihar, suspected international money laundering (for refusing to declare $100,000 dollars in cash
at an airport in New Delhi), an arrest warrant for the Nigerian in an Islamic country known for suicide bombings and Taliban sympathizers and, and, and….
What? are you kidding me? How can I not watch this?
** I”m surprised this Nigerian is still brave enough to remain in the country.
**I also wonder how this would have played out if it was a Kenyan man vs. his Nigerian wife? and I suppose this question would illicit more serious issues, like: how a patriachal society views divorce, how a patriachal society views the division of property within a marriage (can a woman ever win in a place where brute force rules the day?)….
** Is anyone familiar with Kenyan divorce law? what does it say in regards to the division of property and finances?
Ke,
Chinedu should be given his rights. I don’t know why Kenyans always want to look like they’re are smarter than Nigerians or other Africans.
The law should be followed Instead of bundling Chinedu around like he has no rights. Imagine If the Western countries treated all Kenyans there the same way when they divorced.
This would be really sad. I like Chinedu’s confidence. I suggest he takes a good lawyer and fight it in Court.
I want to know where the ‘wealth’ came from… and what did the Kenya government offer the Indians to release akinyi & wanjala (since they broke the laws in India).
Its true. It would actually be a blockbuster.
The money obviously came from the drugs so I don’t know why she is accusing chinedu of being a thief. They are both thieves. Chinedu used the drugs to get the capital and Akinyi used her knowledge of kenya to help him transfer some of the wealth.
Is there any “clean” money in Kenya?
I think the Kenya government (I can dream…) could make money off this fight… investigate them… and if they can’t prove how they gained the wealth… confiscate coz it is likely from drugs… LOL… (I can dream)…
CT,
Look I thought you have some respect for property rights. Obviously you don’t. The government taking their wealth is really stupid and lame at best.
How come you don’t say the same thing about Biwott, Moi… I see some double standards here. Just because he’s nigerian the government can use its excesses.
Kenyans need to wake up. Not all Nigerians are con men. I know a lot of hardworking Nigerians. If there is no proof of where he got his money from .Then he’s as clean as new pin.
At least we know he did not steal from public coffers i.e from your statements above.
How do you know this anyway ?
Now how does the knowledge of how they make their money benefit people up in here? I don’t think this is an issue worth debating about.
Rickey,
You are right. On second thoughts I pull back my question. Thanks for the hind sight Rickey.
So if we all know how they made their money and the govt confiscates it, do we trust the govt will use it to anyone’s benefit, other than MPs?
Property rights and rights to privacy should be respected.
Van Hausen: You must be new here… I would love it if the kenyattas, mois & biwoots were stripped of their ill-gotten wealth… I have advocated that for a long time…
On akinyi & chinedu… I did not say strip only chinedu BUT investigate BOTH. INVESIGATE (or did you miss that). And take it IF they can’t prove how they acquired it… Even the IRS will hit you if you can’t prove you acquired ‘wealth’ by legal means.
So don’t get your knickers twisted… not yet, anyway.
CT,
I’m actually not new here.
Let me tell you something CT. Stop trying to be condescending on every post you come across. Argue your point and bloggers will see the sense in it.
You will be surprised some of us are not as dum as you think. Always accept when someone tells you the truth.
You see the level I’m at right now I don’t take any garbage from blog patrons. Stop taking that Kenyan attitude of patronage on every post.
You say you lived in the west but you seem to not to have picked up on many of their refined values.
VH: Erm, so I argued my point… you go upset coz you thought I was attacking Nigerians… was I targeting Nigerians in my earlier comment? If yes, please quote me… I will check in just for that…
So what was the ‘truth’ you were espousing?
Watching the video, I can see there will be several very rich policemen before this story ends. And I actually felt sorry for Chinedu, though one imagines he must have done something really bad for Akinyi to be this incensed. But seeing they’re both crooked, and according to Akinyi they’re residing in a country where crookedness rules… they’ll both be alright.
Why couldnt the cops arrest Akinyi for distburbing peace? They just stand there like the rest of wananchi. Someone said by the time the saga is over a few cops will be rich – I can see how!!
After College and now grad school the one thing I am yet to understand is why men have no problem killing/attacking/victimising/vilifying/punishing other men whenever there is a domestic dispute. I cannot find anywhere where women are treated equal to men and presumed guilty and punished as harshly as men. If other men did not enjoy punishing fellow men and keeping women above the law then, I’d listen to the gender equality argument. Those who push gender equality rely on the willful ignorance of the abused males in society.
haha, this is some funny drama
men! what did wanjala give akinyi for her to fall so much for him? comparing looks btwn the two men chinedu is handsome far better than wanjala plus even richer.gosh wanjala had the guts to tell pple in his so called homecoming that there is nothing wrong to date akinyi plus a real man is one with many wives or girlfriends.Talk of iliterate pple like him in this era of hiv aids he can dare say that and his legal wives, i pity them.how did they end up with this man?….wanjala there is something wrong with your affair with akinyi simply she is legally married to one chinedu not until they divorce that when she will be legally free…But my Bible plus christian teachings tells me that marriage is divine.the two must have first loved each other then decided to start a family thus marrying.i really feel for their two young kids..how they will grow with one parent in a broken home and the way its painfull to live in such a home??Divine intervention is really needed here!!
