because it seems to me that the key to being an odm supporter is to believe in messianic presidents who will, in about one hour or less after inauguration, wipe out all hurts, all tears and all debts.
i do maintain faith in such a messiah, but he is for sure NOT a kenyan, american or wherever president.
it is an unfortunate culture the odm has instilled in its otherwise intelligent followers, you being amongst them.

everytime i see obama on cnn i keep wondering ‘when will the ball end?’. mccain and his republicans look weak, clinton is in a slide and the war is unpopular. everything’s looking good for the ‘boy from illi-noy’, but what is it that will put an end to the party? for now, i’ll hope its the whitehouse

America is ready for a black Prezo ! This man is a phenomenon, look at the crowds he is pulling..When last were Americans this excited , even for a white person?
We expect it to get bloody when the power brokers the Roves and the demagogues like the Limbaughs’ get to work. Bill was getting nasty but hurt (himself ) hillary really bad and has not recovered since south carolina. This Obama guy is winning big in midwest and northwest and DEeep souTH.
Of course there is a big group out there that cannot elect a black guy no matter what…he will surely get a beating ( I dread those swift boat vets! I think they will be mercilessand will try to shred him to pieces) But he can keep hammering the point that these old folks are more of the same . The idea is keeping these mobs gathering and they’ll be scared of the momentum and change especially if he keeps it as movement of change. In fact , If carries this excitement into republican youth,cautiously tell them its a change they can believe in, he’ll win.

It’s silly, with all due respect , to think Obama is Luo, he’s not even kenyan as KE tells you. Like everyone, Obama has relatives ,and some happen to be luos including his father .They missed the opportunity to instilled him with some luo “values” and culture . Even raila and dick cheney claim to be his cousins. His father’s absence when he was growing up might be ” the blessing in disguise” . I suspect that’s why black & white democrats are comfortable with his american values base, derived from his surrounding& upbringing . Lets not try to make him what he’s not, we love him the way he is.

I never saw kenya sleep in hope to wake up in disillusionment as it has turned out. Prior to this highly covetted process called the general elections, kenya was rolling -smoothly as would be expected of a country at peace with itself.
Many did not mind who their neighbours were, neither did they mind what their neighbours owned. Then all over a sudden, ambitious people masquarading as messiahs…wake up and raise the whistle, Mkikuyu ameiba kura.
What follows is a prejudiced criticism, against the government. while it was so clear that the elections left a lot to be desired- from either sides.
Upto a certain degree, I agree with the Koffi Annan led mediations but I think they have plunged this country into graver problems than ever before. While creating the executive prime minister slot is opinion of many, i beg that we stop for a moment, gather sense and reason together, before we take a step further in the wrong direction.
While Koffi has repeatedly talked about superficial solutions, I would like to question his commitment to ending the Kenyan crises.
I have a brief oversight on what happened in Ivory Coast…French soldiers franked the Speaker of the National assembly in a lawless act of claiming the presidency of that country, Eversince, Ivory Coast has never woken up…
I do not want to slight Koffi Annan but I wonder what position Raila and Kibaki who are in their sunset years take in this country, other than their desire to occupy the country’s most covetted office. If America and the World are genuine…why dont they pressure the two parties to go for a repeat of the ballot?
Why are they insisting that there be an executive PM? How will they check the rivalry between Kibaki and Raila? And wont it make the Luo Kikuyu tension reach a fever pitch?
This is just the beginning…Kenyans be prepared for many days of the doom to come.
If in the country called Kenya only two people can dictate the future of 34 million others, we stand piteous.
My last plea to all Kenyans…regardless of your opinion do not stretch it to assume a physical bearing. After the elections are done and rigged, kenyans will need to live.
Otherwise, this could be the onset of our misfortunes.

ur livin in cloud-cuckoo-land….how can Jalouz run a country proffesionally?….the only place Jaluo and proffesionality mix is in throwing stones and lootin-this applies 2 even e proffessors-..don brand Raila that PM title…he is’nt and chances r that he wont be…PLiz don try to show that kikuyus don support Karua…we r behind her and the clique and no self-respectin kikuyu would go for the idea of an executive PM. and FYI we are not resticted to thinkin bout arrowroots

Tell me I dont sense an inferiority complex here..Can Obama beat McCain come on!!! What world are you living in? If you survive the Clinton Machine the same machine that thrashed Karl Rove & the Newt Gringich Contract with America I think it shows some balls. The man has ran a flawless campaign,
-Has not had to loan his campaign funds – Speaks to his fiscal discipline
-Has not had staffing problems with his team- Speaks to his ability to attract and retain talent
- Has not had trouble with “qualifying” his christianity.. I welcome republican ministers to try to hit him with the crap they did to Kerry last elections…. they wont have a toe to stand on.

Give credit where it credit is due. The man can sell a vision and support it when pressed to support the thought.

* Has challenged people to outdo themselves, stretch and reach.

That’s a very strange statement you made, especially since I have already said that I am a registered democrat and will vote for whoever the democratic nominee is.

Obama is really not Kenyan. He was raised by his maternal grand-parents in Hawaii. His father abandoned the family when he was two years old and he never actually knew him. So, when I talk about Obama, I am looking at him not as a Luo, but as a black man trying to achieve what has never been done in America’s 400 year history. And the question I am asking is if, 40 years after segregation, America is ready to vote in it’s first black president. I’m not sure.

I find it funny how all of you are ignoring the info on John Mccain’s adopted daughter. If they can do that to a child, what will they do to Obama.

America is a white man’s country, whether you want to admit it or not.

We all know that Kibaki’s acceptance of a coalition government is his only exit from active politics. The man is a thief who’s been caught with his pants down. He can retain the presidency and remain holed up in State House for the next five years…nobody cares. In fact let him remain president for the next twenty.

Let PM Raila give us a new constitution, new ECK, land reforms, anti-Anglo-leasing agenda, the end of the one tribe finance ministry etc. The dreams of most Kenyans. All we want is fairness. Mambo ya uizi hatutaki.

KE, by the way, you are slowly becoming the only representative of the minority Karua-supporting Kikuyus. You are misrepresenting your people and like Kibaki, giving them a bad name. Most Kikuyus I know are very progressive and support the creation of PM for Raila. They have seen the hate that you spew and have decided to join the rest of Kenyans in demanding for change. They realize that Kenya is not only for Kibaki and his friends kina Margayan. Most Kikuyus are not like you who cannot think beyond a couple of arrow roots. Most progressive Kikuyus understand that the Rift Valley land issues need to be resolved. Most do not support Mungiki. Most loathe Karua grandstanding.
