The Implosion of The Grand Illusion
I’ve been saying for almost a year now, that the grand coalition (illusion) government would never work. People who like power, don’t like to share it. So, I will repeat it here again — this illusion government is trending down a path of failure. The Kikuyu’s and Kamba’s in government and now increasingly in the military, are never, ever, going to share power with Raila Odinga and William Ruto.
Raila is going to continue to do what he does best — he’ll keep whining and whining about something and they’ll throw him a few crumbs just to shut up him up. Then, he’ll realize he’s been fooled and he’ll start whining again and this process of “whine & give” will repeat itself until the year 2012.
However, this illusion of “unity” is not the biggest problem facing the country. A more important crime is being committed by this grand coalition illusion government. The crime involved here is twofold: The first crime is embezzlement. What is embezzlement? embezzlement is the misappropriation of items with which a person has been entrusted. The taxpayers have entrusted their money to this criminal syndicate (aka the grand coalition illusion) and the syndicate is currently embezzling their hard earned money.
The second crime being committed here is tax evasion. What is tax evasion? tax evasion is the intentional avoidance of paying mandatory taxes to the government. This crime is now being committed before your eyes by your elected members of parliament.
The only solution to this problem is for both Kibaki and Odinga to drastically cut the number of cabinet ministers who are currently embezzling taxpayer funds and then force the second level criminals (read: the mp’s) to pay their taxes. You really only need about 10 ministers and with permanent secretaries already in place, you do not need any assistant ministers at all. What do assistant ministers do anyway? They also need to get rid of the silly posts of deputy prime minister.
They cannot continue to use 80% of the country’s tax dollars to fund a NON-REVENUE GENERATING criminal syndicate. These 100 ministers and their assistants are not experts. They are not earning Kenya any money. All they are doing is gorging money and literally and figuratively becoming obese on it.

Come on, do you ever stop and put everything you write into retrospect? Statements like….
“The Kikuyu’s and Kamba’s in government and now increasingly in the military, are never, ever, going to share power with Raila Odinga and William Ruto.”
….
Leaves me wondering if there is any hope for that third world country, rather than using an individual’s skills in unifying, or at least trying to unify the region, some of you are still stuck in tribal cabals, froth spewing. This is a global village, the more you are, the better the bargaining power. I suppose it takes a little more than education to see what ails some Sub Saharan African minds common sense may be a good starting point.
For some ukabila is so ingrained in their sub conscious that they fail to see the real problems we as a region face, the problems being larger than Raila and Kibaki combined… or shall we simply blame the Turukanas or Pokots for our problems?
A quick question, do you realize how divided the country is at the moment?, if you had an ear to the ground you would realize how screwed up we are, with more than seventy percentage of thew dwellers of Nairobi Metropolitan in slums (number is growing!) slums. It will be just a matter of time before some bare the brunt of angry and hungry majority….
and on that point Good luck with your blog…
Ken Thumbi
This KE got stuck on Kamba & Kikuyu…Kalenjin & Luo………
KE also thinks Luos & their allies are so stupid that thy will continue with that described…….*(whine & give ) game. The Kambas in POWER? Which Wakamba are in POWER.? ….KAMBAS have ONLY TWO ministers in PNU…(2/48) Powerfull indeed!! Kambas must be silly to think they have any power….Luos are better off in this arrangement….
You say this power is an illusion (meaning Raila got no power)..The same time you say Raila & Kibaki should make the cabinet 10 ~~Why not Kibaki ALONE to make the changes
KE…Just face reality (Kibaki shares power with Raila). and…Kibaki & Top Kyuks are just geezers interested in NO kikuyu but themselves……….They even stole IDP funds the other day!!!
We are stuck down here together in the RUT!!
Tell me something new, KE.
I decline to vote b/c
1) Yes, it is God’s will? God ain’t no dictator.
2) No way in Hell? When last were you in Hell?
I don’t know when people will stop operating under the illusion that this “government” is working or even getting along and if anything, the piece above was meant to highlight it’s very tenuous position, but once again, the main point of the piece was missed.
These people are not working for the greater good of the country. They are maneuvering for power and it’s going to get messy because someone has to win and someone has to lose.
Raila himself has finally realized that he has no real power. Why do you think he’s complaining about Muthaura?
And yes, it is tribal because Kenya IS tribal. Perhaps people need to take the situation as it is, as opposed to what they hope it will become.
Granted the GNU is a fake construct & bound to implode soon… but the thieves run across all tribes… and I think even GEMA are embarrassed by kibz & cronies!
Look at triton-KPC… we have devani, okungu, murungi, mecha and I betcha the entire spectrum is covered!
We need a Obama-like guy/gal who is driven by good…
In the 1960s we had Joseph Murumbi as VP who was a Indian-Maasai… and from what I have read, a nice, clean chap… Of course, he did not last long in crooked wa ngengi’s government… Murumbi actually resigned from gov’t to protest the crookedness…
A pity crooked wa ngengi did not kick the bucket much sooner coz we might be closer to Singapore than Zimbabwe if Murumbi had become president.
Nice one Ken Thumbi… Say the Truth and It will set us free..
Personally i don’t think tribalism is a disease… I think the problem is much deeper than this… The powers that be would like you to think tribalism is the problem… They like the people to think that they can’t reason… Every politician in Kenya spreads this troll and the people consume the troll and are ready to kill their neighbor who is not the problem that they face…
Its a very unfortunate position we find ourselves in…. Obviously every body know what is going to happen to Kenya…. For there to be a meaningful social change…. The truth is the people are the best placed group to initiate this change…..
History has taught us… even the most rigid of minds will change .. Even the ones that think Tribe is cause of our problems… they’ll change… Trust me Brothers They will..
ke,
Am off topic here. Just wanted you to watch this uplifting video. Go to you tube
and write BRITS GET RICH IN CHINA.
Faisal:
Thanks. That was really a fantastic documentary. The people featured (especially that Brit who kept swearing) are really risk takers. I had to google that guy (vince walker) — Apparently, prior to moving to China, he used to smuggle diamonds from Sierra Leone! until he got into trouble with a war lord and got shot in the arm and had to run away.
Yo Faisal…
Nice documentary… Man thats some risky stuff.. I really don’t have the guts to venture out like that… May be if my back is on the wall…
I have to visit China some time ….
Fck .. I need to learn Chinese !
i liked the cushion guy. amazing how he bet everything on one card. 2 million pounds. He was all happy later with 3 million order. hehe.
I must say, I was totally grossed out when his Chinese business partner offered him the restaurant’s house special: Donkey penis! yuk. If I ever go to China, I will absolutely, absolutely stick to vegetarian dishes.
KE: How do you know you are not eating offal in your hamburger? Minced meat? Or at your local Chinese restaurant?
I can never figure out for certain what is in my Chinese food!
