The Kenya “THEY” Have…..
Can someone please tell me who the fuck is giving zombie Kibaki public relations advise???
Ten million people are starving and the government decides to use your money to pay for a conference to talk about the Kenya you want. No. Excuse me. To talk about the Kenya they have and the one you’ll never get.
They then spend Ksh. 15 million shillings a day (of your money) - to pay for the allowances of the people they invited– so that these people can be washed with the great wisdom of such great speakers like Moi and Biwott: total men who were both totally rejected — by the people who live, in the Kenya they have. The one you want and the one you are paying for.
Maybe the KRA commissioner should allow all the taxpayers of Kenya to list the government down as a co-dependent on their tax forms (sort of like an adopted child) — because at this point, you are supporting these guys like your own children. Actually, for most, it’s waaaaay more than they are even giving their own children.
** The Kenya “they” have — link to where the money was hidden.
**These are the invitee’s lining up to get their allowances.

KE,
Apparently Kibaki & Raila Coalition Inc.- have run out of Idea’s !!
After a divisive emotionally intense campaign with all sorts of cheap promises & and campaign rhetoric…. The truth has finally come out -The Coalition has NO new Ideas … So they’re groping in the wilderness and seeking Input from a select politically correct wanjiku and the old remnants of the previous regimes…
This must be the biggest joke so far into 2009.
Mzeiya,
I agree with you brother- This is a Classic example of Shamba La Wanyama !
Kibaki has commissions of enquiry ideas, Raila has conference of enquiry idea. The boottom line is allowances paid. And what is new Moi talking about?
As Kenyans we are so hoodwinked with enquires we lost grasp with political reality (please don’t tell me this conference is different from other commissions. The basis are same. Collect and give ideas or evidence, get huge allowance. Pass the report to the prezzo. He shelfs it. End of story) Next a huge disaster (God forbids) will occur and Kibaki and Raila will form a commission to enquire how to save the victims from the burning fire. Oouch!
I agree Kenya has gone to the dogs! I read Police spokesman,Mr. Kiraithe claiming his boys couldn’t condon off (with a security tape)the scene of tanker accident coz it was in the bush. And he got away with that one! Next he will claim they let off the bleeding suspect coz his boys never had proper gloves. Bure Kabisa! Only generational change can save Kenya.
All this is useless PR. As rightly pointed out by many, the KWW conference is trying to deflect the attention on:
- Maize Scams (lucy kibaki & other cronies are involved)
- Fuel Shortages (KPC-Triton scam & the Kes 10bn payable)
- Waki Report (Election Violence)
- Kimunya/ndungu being protected (Grand Regency Scam)
I reiterate that most Kenyans are idiots for electing these idiots.
As they speak, there are HUGE problems in the Kenya.
Businesses are crying while the Nairobi City Council raises fees/taxes. The ‘growth’ in the CBD will be reversed in 2009 as many businesses will close up shop.
The only folks living high on the hog are government employees & cronies of the politicians.
KE, never forget that Raila, Kibaki & Co. know their audience. They know how easily distracted we Kenyans are, and that there is nothing we can do to them. We’ll just push on with the same old (dressed in new-ish clothes). Only in Kenya can Moi (who people love to forget was there for 24 years and presided over our moral and ethical rot) act like he has no idea where we went wrong. Anyway, Dee, generational change is not going to be any different. Look at the so-called “youthful” figures currently in government. They are no different than the usual suspects. Systems and policies are the only hope, then we need to get credible enforcers, and no one should be allowed to jitetea if they’ve behaved contrary to the law or policy.
Police are charging the Nakumatt workers, without bothering to find out what in Nakumatt’s operations procedures dictated that the grill doors should be closed in case of fire. Ultimately, you can see the workers were worried the cost of goods stolen would come out of their salaries, so they worked hard to protect their masters. I’m sure it all made sense at the time. Hope they get good lawyers who’ll point this out. And it leads us to Kenyan morals and ethics: since we’re all suspected thieves (look around any building you go to and see if there really are fire escapes) we shall continue dying unnecessarily in fires ’cause no one trusts us enough to have an operational fire escape.
Kei O
I think we are now all agreed.
Kenya is now back to normal – scams are sign of the good health of the Kenyan nation.
Let us now all gleefully engage in this business of corruption. It is the only way Kenya can survive.
Kenya cannot survive without corruption. You saw what what happened during Kibaki’s first term when he tried to get rid of corruption. The country almost broke into tiny pieces.
So – Let us all forget this business of pontificating and play our part in corruption for the sake of our country.
Our future depends on corruption!
What a waste of taxpayers money? For god sake, who the hell came up with this stupid conference of “kenya we want”. For the last 40 years we have been crying of the Kenya we want, and no one seems to listen, and then we go and have this conference? People of Kenya, please listen, we are really morons for electing idiots as our leaders – this is a complete and utter non-sense.
Millions of Kenyans are starving and more are dying by the day, and we have the audacity to have such conferences. As an agriculture nation we cant even feed our own people, don’t we see what is wrong with these leaders? Are we so blinded by these guys?
The only way Kenya will ever change is that there is a revolution by the people who demand immediate change of regime and a change of our constitution, and tell the leaders on the country give us results or got to hell…..We can’t be taking shit like this from leaders….What’s the point of having democracy, we might as well have an authoritarian leader who atleast can pout food on the table and ensure people are well fed..and teh economy is growing – Maybe we need a foreign leader from another country to rule us….
Isn’t there anybody in Kenya who can understand the plight of our people and start kicking butt in the public and shame these politicians..>What is happening????
Kenyans need to export CORRUPTION… yes, let’s set up the University of Unethical Behaviour.
And all fees are waived if you give the Chancellor kitu kidogo. We can build it in a few years using public funds. Of course, it would be a 2-story campus in Kibera whereas the funds allocated could build another Yale in Muthaiga.
And all students will graduate. Summa Cum Laude. With the right greasing of palms.
Students will inundate Kenya & we can expand to other towns. I mean even Lodwar needs a satellite campus after all Somalia is a huge market for a course in “Negotiating Ransoms”. Graduation gets you your own AK-47. For those with the right, erm, connections can pick up a speedboat as well.
Kenya will be the envy of the world. We will have the highest per capita income (well, a little skewed at the top of the food chain).
haha all very good points above.
lol..Kei O Ati kenya is now back to nomal with all the corruption ?…funny irony, but true.
Ole MIBEI, Yes it’s very true, Kenya is a pur shamba la wanyama, where some humans are more equal than others.
I also no dont agree with the notion of young leaders. Kenyatta, and Ruto and Namwamba are young but all USELESS!!!
I agree with PYSED OFF 100 % We need system and institutional changez. But offcourse this current lot in leadership cannot chnage them coz they are comfortable with the current set of draconian laws that ensure their safety net while the masses suffer.
Ati Police is now charging the Nakumatt workers ? what a bunch of HOGWASH, COWARDICE and shifting the blame. The blame should go to NAKUMATT INC. LTD. PTY oR WHatever it is registered as. Nakumatt, the entity needs to be responsible, not the poor workers who are at the beck and call of management, of which management is under the owners, yaani wenyeji.
I become more discourage about kenya as the days go by. But it’s good we have technology where we can be current with the goings on and where we can xchange ideas, and it’s good to know that I’m not the only one who thinks kenya is going to the doggs.
COLDTUSKER, Since you’re in kenya on the ground, are people as frustrated as those of us who read about it online ? or have people given up.
KE, I agree with u, democracy is not for africa, its democrazy, apart from Ghana.
We need no nonsense leaders who’s agenda is to endeleza kenya.
I always wonder if these leaders ever feel ashamaed when they visit abroad and see how behind kenya is.
what a shame?
I don’t know the about the Nakumatt !!
I don’t know about Nakumatt
I’m trying to figure out if I should do a post on the Indian managers/owners of Nakumatt who are not being accused of ordering the doors shut (as the building was burning) in order to prevent looting.
I was listening to the operations manager or whoever he was — he sounded like he’d just gotten off the plane from some village in India.
Then the mayor of Nairobi was quoted saying that he had tried to get the managers of nakumatt to comply with the city’s building and fire codes, but they were able to bribe officials at the ministry and get away with it.
What is the story behind Nakumatt and all those Indians?? hmmmm….
Link to story about Nakumatt employees getting charged: http://www.nation.co.ke/News/-.....index.html
1) How convenient for City Hall to claim that they were prevented from inspecting the store just after the fire. Me thinks City Hall is lying. In any event, they took 30 mins to get to Nakumatt… to travel 100 metres. And the fire hydrants had no water.
BTW, the store they claimed not to have inspected due to ‘interference’ was Nakumatt Mega & the fire was at Nakumatt Downtown. Oh, and ND has a valid fire inspection certificate!
2) The COO of Nakumatt is an Indian expat so did you expect him to sound like a kikuyu villager. BTW, how will mnutula kilonzo sell vnishon thwenthy thnirthy winth his accent?
KE: Get off the accent bullshit. Henry Kissinger had a strong accent (his brother did not) yet he was one of the most powerful SoS the USA has ever had. And he was a damn sight smarter than crooked wa ngengi.
3) Focus on Nakumatt will be used to extort the owners. Molo deaths are over & done with. Mass grave.
4) Ruto favouring friends. jackson kibor buys 100,000 bags of maize. JK is not a miller yet gets MORE maize than legit millers. JK does not even take delivery of the maize but sells its immediately to someone else at a profit of 600/- per bag. Deaths due to starvation… JK doesn’t care, kibz doesn’t care… ruto doesn’t care… raila doesn’t care…
Why hire an expat from India when Kenya has so many qualified people who could do the job? the only reason one would do this is because of a latent insularity, which many Indians have had inspite of being in the country for almost 100 years.
Now, I know you are going to come back and argue that other kenyans do the same thing, but I think this is wrong as well. However, with the Indians, there’s an ingrained fear (or is it racism) about socializing or doing anything with black Africans.
On Henry Kissinger:
The notion that Kissinger was a genius has to be the longest concoted myth about an individual anywhere in the world. Kissinger was the architect of the vietnam war — he foolishly attacked a country that had never attacked America and it led to the deaths of two million vietnamese people and half a million Americans.
He then went on to support an insurgency in Cambodia, which failed and led to the rise of the mass murderer, pol pot — a man who went on to slaughter two million Cambodians. The only thing kissinger created (especially in southeast asia) was war, bloodshed and genocide. Familiarize yourself with that part of cold war history.
Kissinger should have been indicted as a war criminal at the Hague 40 years ago.
Anyway, I have a piece on Ruto and Kibor coming up. The cockiness of these two men is something to behold.
CT you’re right, none of them care.
KE, get off the indian angle. And anyway, what do you want Kenyan Indians to do when the economy is so tightly locked up and has wenyewe? When we don’t want to bake more cake, just to get as many pieces as possible for ourselves? Many of their kids would never be employed when competing with Kenyan Africans (due to our tendency to knock good people down, which results in the wrong people in key positions). So why shouldn’t they have their own little bubbles? That’s what I see in the future of Kenya (as if it isn’t already), each community forms its own bubble and lives within it. Doing school, business, and working within it.
Psyd off:
These are good points you make – everyone exists within their own tribal enclave, but I can’t bring myself to accept how these Indians treat their African workers — there’s a superiority complex with them that just bugs me. I blame a culture and caste system that looks down on darker skinned people and of course, British colonialism, which put them up a rung higher (on the racial hierachy scale) than Africans. Despite living in Africa all these years, they’ve never quite shed these entrenched ideologies.
Anyway, lets move on to discussing more important issues.
COLD TUSKER,
DUDE ARE U FOR REAL ? ATI Henry Kissinger is a genius ??? my goodness, where did u learn history from ??
KE rightly points out- this man should have been at the Hague back in the days.
Have you ever heard or studied about the Nixon tapes ? where president Nixon was having conversations with his staff including Kissinger ? Probably when u hear Kissinger say that Africans are monkeys is when you’ll change your “genius” view about him.
Kissinger has gotten away with so much blood on his hands and crime, tha he’d make Moi look good…ati he is a genius..NONSENSE!!
I also heard that nakumatt guy speak and I agree with COL TUSKER, that dude must be expat, coz his chute accent is too heavy.
It’s true, despite what people say, these indians been in the country for over 100 years yet they speak like they’ve been in KE for 2 months. It goes to tell a whole lot about kenya’s culture and the hierarchies that may be blind to some of you.
If a kiuk or kamba speak with an accent, there really isn’t nada wrong with it coz their accent is a kenyan accent of kiuk/ kamba heritage. Even in the states, people speak English with EXTREMELY different accents: You can always tell a southerner from a northerner, or a person from New York / New Jessey area. They all speak english BUT with very different accents, of which, these different accents are recognized as part of American English, that u won’t find no where else in the world.
with these Indians, you can’t tell tell if dude is from India ama he was born raised in Kenya.
I visited the Caribbean and got to understand wat KE means. There are indians in Trinidad, full Indian, with indian names, surnames, traditions, hindus etc, HOWEVER, They have a distinct trini accent, none of them speak like their ancestors.
same thing in Jamaica, downtown kingston has stores / shops that are mostly owned by chinese, but chinese jamaicans. It kind of reminded of kenya, where the shops in town center are mostly owned by indians. Coz Jamaica was also colonized by the british, they brought it lage numbers of chinese from china from 1890 to be laborers, and when the british left, the chinese stayed and are now Upton like 4 or 5th generation jamaican chinese.
The interseting thing is that they have the carribean accent kabisa, if u closed ur eyes and heard them speak, u’d think it’s a black jamaican, and they speak fast too.
This is coz most of them assimilated to a level where they knew JA or trinidad will be their country.
I don’t see why the indians in kenya can’t apart from racism. Honestly, how do u ive in a country for over 100 years and u still sound like you’re fresh off the boat from India ?
It’s like African Americans still having that initial African accent??
mzeiya, Why the constant whining? Visit a few more places and understand (“to understand all is to forgive all”). If you don’t like that indians own so many small businesses and are racist, don’t support their businesses. Simple.as.that. Action. Not. Whining.
dear fellow kenyans,
I want to assume that you and me are the next generation. It is you and me to move out of our comfort zones and make a difference.
One principle difference is by electing leaders who are “focus” oriented. In whatever you do, where you are, make a name as a reformer. I psche you all to do something about our country.
Some of us are talented as farmers. Some as teachers. Some as writers. Some as preachers. Some as engineers etc .So, in whatever level you are in I urge you to leave “good” footprints. We need new roles models. We need real reformers.
We need that farmer who produces so well that every person wants to be a farmer also. We need that teacher who truelly educates and helps students learn the real life besides book work. We need chefs who are international revered.
this we can do; teach our siblings, our parents, our clans, our communty and change our country as a whole
