The Strange Case of William Munuhe
Every year, there are articles in the Kenyan papers about the whereabouts of the Rwandese genocide perpetrator, Felicien Kabuga. For years, people have believed that Kabuga was and probably still is, hiding somewhere in Kenya, but nobody can seem to find him.
However, while Kabuga’s name is well known on the world’s most wanted listed, a less well known name was that of William Munuhe. In 2003, Munuhe, who was then 27 years old, agreed to help the Kenyan police and the FBI find Kabuga. He was supposed to meet kabuga at a pre-destined location and while there, the police would then pounce and arrest him (Kabuga).
However, the day before the plan was to be hatched, Munuhe was found dead in his apartment. The Kenyan police claimed it was a suicide, but reports later emerged that Munuhe was an FBI informant who had agreed to help the U.S. find Kabuga. Some reports said he was found dead with a bullet hole in his head while other reports claimed his body was mutilated and his eyes were gouged out.
The FBI now believes that someone in the Kenyan administration found out about the plot before hand and warned Kabuga. He never showed up for the meeting. Instead, assassins were sent out to kill Munuhe. There’s an article here on what happened and it also claims that two other Kenyan policemen who were about to reveal where Kabuga was were “met with accidents, while a third went into hiding.”
There’s a $5 million dollar bounty on Kabuga’s head and to this day, I am amazed that no one in Kenya, especially a minister who has police protection, has been able to find Kabuga and been unwilling to obtain that $5 million dollar reward money.
I am surprised the Rwandese intelligence services have not sent agents into Kenya to try and locate Kabuga. They did send in agents to Nairobi to kill a former internal security minister, but so far, they have yet to do the same thing for Kabuga. The Israeli’s did this for Nazi sympathizers who run away after the holocaust (they went all over the world pursuing them, capturing them and bringing them to justice in Israel). The Ethiopians have done the same thing in Kenya, as I wrote here.
So, I just thought I’d mention this guy Munuhe {again} because the annual “where is Kabuga” song is being sung again, but Munuhe’s case hasn’t gotten that much attention.
The last known citing of Kabuga in Kenya was at the house of Hosea Kiplagat, a nephew of Moi’s.
if kabuga is being protected by the GoK then it is difficult for the Rwandese to get him… coz too many layers to work thru… plus if they are successful then extracting them is a problem… perhaps the Rwandese need to contact Mossad for advice…
This guy may not even be in Kenya for all you know. I hear some of those Rwandese dissidents have safe havens in French West Africa – particularly Gabon and Cameroon.
He may have had plastic surgery to change his appearance. Afterall, he has the money to pull such a stunt.
Kenya is crawling with Rwandese agents looking for him. Believe you me the guy is well hidden.
