Who Are The Foreign Owners of Safaricom?

Okay, so, I was trying to get through this article in BD Africa, but I just couldn’t make sense of it. Hello? Did someone forget to edit again? Can somebody here read the above article and tell me what the hell the writer is trying to say?

Anyway, I want to move on to what I believe is one of the main points of this jumbled article and it is this {correct me if I’m wrong} – Dyer & Blair and Kestrel Capital were involved in some shenanigans in terms of deciding who these “foreign” owners were going to be and how much they were going to get. I think most people have now figured out that something shady went on with this IPO, but they haven’t quite gotten their hands on the details.

While I’m on this topic, I’d also like to talk about Kestrel Capital, which I’m sure everyone knows is owned by Biwott’s son-in-law, Charles Field-Marsham, but who is this man? I’ll tell you a little story here about him: A few months ago, a Canadian reporter contacted me and wanted to know if I had any information on him and I said I didn’t. I then asked the reporter why he was interested in doing a story on this Marsham guy. The reporter responded that the newspaper was looking into businesses that Marsham owned in Canada and was trying to find out if they were linked to corrupt deals from Kenya. I haven’t heard back from this reporter and I’m not sure if they are still pursuing the story, but Charles-Field Marsham has popped up on their radar screen and this was a large newspaper, so if they decided to do the story, it could become a public relations “problem” for Marsham.

So, I want to use this space to talk about this strange man, Charles-Field Marsham as well as talk about the inside trading deals at the NSE that are essentially rigging the game against the average investor.

Excuse me please for being a bit out of line…..But I wanna congrats you for your true prophecy about Kibaki’s Military shake up. They retired one or two officers (non Kalenjins) may be for the cover up of their next operation. I say this because immediately Gen.Kianga ordered the review of all commisioned officers from the rank of Major and up. The catch here is that all those who fail to meet qualifications will be axed.Which brings the question….how were they promoted in first place if they weren’t qualified? We are talking about disciplined forces here….We all know the people they are targeting…The standard six drop outs that are “Colonels” just because they had “The correct Tribal affiliation”…..KE your predictions have impressed me. So, is this part of the “cleaning house” you talked about?Read Today’s Nation.

  3. The minute anyone gets serious and goes after Morgan Stanley International (it bought almost 10% of all the IPO shares), this will become a proper story.
My own hunch is that Kibz campaign funds were paid back via this. 2ndly, this is one of the reasons its post-IPO price has continued to fall because these guys just wanted to be able to make some gains and then scoot. Lakini 800m shares is a lot to get rid of.
