Who Are The Richest Kenyans? (Amended)

October 29, 2007

Send this article to Twitter!

I’ve always said that it’s very hard to ascertain the source of wealth of many people in Kenya.  For some, I can understand why they’d not want to talk about it, but for those who claim to have made their money honestly, why not talk about it? It’s the one thing I admire about entrepreneurs in the west: they’ll tell you how they did it and what it took; they’ll give speeches, they’ll write books, they’ll teach classes, etc, etc. Even the newly minted Indian entrepreneurs are beginning to do this.  Why not Africans? we hide the money under our beds and guard it with pangas. Why?

Okay.  I’ve cleaned up the list, but it’s still all pure guesswork on my part.

The Thieves Politicians:

Moi & family ($1.2 billion)

Kenyatta’s ($400 million)

Biwott ($700 million)

Saitoti ($100 million)

Kibaki ($ 100 million)

Michuki ($100 million)

*Awori ($5 million; how much can you really make selling bricks? & I also don’t think Awori stole. or did he?)

Manufacturing:

Chris Kirubi ($10 million)

Manu Chandaria ($10 million)

Naushad Merali ($10 million)

Kuguru Foods ($2 million)

Finance:

Jimnah Mbaru ($5 million)

James Mwangi ($2 million)

Who else?

The Up & Comers:

The Founders of Kencall? ($0, but in 10 years, who knows? do you see them becoming like a Wipro or even an Infosys? hmmmm)

In this section, I want to include a list of younger Kenyans who may end up making their money {honestly} by tapping into emerging technologies like the internet and mobile phones and/or starting outsourcing companies.

Feel free to add, eliminate or amend this list.

How did you miss me in your list? Haven’t you seen my bank A/C balance at Webster 5 cents credit union??

Just curious? How did you base your ‘estimates?’

  2. kenyanentrepreneur on October 29, 2007 at 10:08 pm

My estimates are pure guesses with absolutely no proof or basis.

Aren’t you already on the Forbes list??

  3. just what? on October 30, 2007 at 6:29 am

    does awori really make bricks?
your estimates for michuki might be slightly off, tune them down a little.
and where’s jimnah mbaru, the nse chairman? surely he’s been a good boy and ‘taken care of business’.

  4. Sean on October 30, 2007 at 6:46 am

This list looks like pure guesswork to me. Where the f@$k is Paul Kamlesh Patn, MAtiba, Simeon Nyachae and Michuki cant be worth all that…..

  5. KE on October 30, 2007 at 9:22 am

    Sean:
I admitted it was pure guess work on my part! and I also invited people to add to the list….please feel free to do so.

Isn’t Matiba having financial problems with his schools and hotels?

    Just what:
I thought Awori started a business where he sold those red bricks that go on people’s rooftops? No?

  6. mainat on October 31, 2007 at 5:29 am

Rich Kenyan entreprenuers do talk about how they made it. Have a look in the Financial Post (http://www.financialpost.co.ke/Pages/archives.html), I can’t remember exactly which issue featured Joe Wanjui, but they have done several.

If its a rich list you are after this (http://217.21.125.81/index.php.....=index.php) one has who owned what at end of Dec 2006 in the NSE.

  7. kenyanentrepreneur on October 31, 2007 at 8:28 pm

I forgot to add Amos Wako to this list (a reliable source told me that he has about $100 million u.s. dollars hidden away in new york bank accounts)

  8. max on October 31, 2007 at 8:46 pm

Yes, pure guess work indeed. Reality is that Awori is and has been the richest politician not only in Kenya but in East Africa. His family is scattered between Kenya and Uganda and they are many.

  9. kenyanentrepreneur on October 31, 2007 at 9:11 pm

How much is he worth? and how did he make his money?

  10. just what? on November 4, 2007 at 6:49 am

dont know about awori, but some interesting guy by the name paul ndungu appears about five times on the nse richlist from mainat, with his smallest holding being 7mill (standard group) and his largest being 1.4bilion (KQ). any one know who he is?

  11. kenyanentrepreneur on November 6, 2007 at 1:21 pm

I googled paul ndungu’s name and found this:

“Another notable kingpin at the stock exchange is Paul W. Ndungu and Nelson M.Njoroge, ranking as one of the top local individuals appearing among the billionaires atthe NSE”.

I think he is a lawyer and author/chairperson of the ndungu report.

Link on Kenya’s stock market billionaires (which would make them millionaires in u.s. dollar terms)

  12. just what? on November 7, 2007 at 2:27 am

KE, thanks for the link. Quite obscure, though. Who puts this info up?

  13. mainat on November 7, 2007 at 4:12 am

Paul Ndungu is one of the original Safaricom dealers. He used the proceeds to buy shares in KQ and other companies when they were going for a song (Ksh7 etc)

  14. KE on November 7, 2007 at 10:24 am

    Just what:

I don’t know who put this info up.

    mainat:

What do you mean by “one of the original safaricom dealers” – does he own part of safaricom like Moi and family?

  15. just what? on November 8, 2007 at 2:47 am

i believe mainat means the original licensed retail dealers for airtime/top up time. i know another who made enough to leave a UN job, so ndungu might be genuine after all.

  16. mainat on November 8, 2007 at 5:36 am

The link is from financial post who sourced the infomation from the NSE listed companies’s annual reports. Hasinet another website also has all the top 10 shareholders of each NSE listed company.

KE-for an entreprenuer who goes on about the internet, whose main selling pt is info, you seem to be a poor utiliser esp where Kenyan busi is concerned. There is a few very rich thieves in Kenya. There are even more genuine rich businessmen in Kenya.

  17. just what? on November 9, 2007 at 1:57 am

mainat; do those genuine businessmen include those who can influence government procurement and tendering? because getting rich in kenya means selling to the government(eg road contractors) or to the masses(eg safaricom).

  18. KE on November 9, 2007 at 3:29 pm

    Mainat:

You seriously did not say that they are very few rich thieves in Kenya, did you? As just what mentioned, stealing does not just mean taking money out of an office in a gunia! There’s all kinds of shadiness going on. Take safaricom for instance, who owns that 5% stake? is that not stealing?

I’ve always maintained that the reason africa is so poor is because we don’t produce anything. They are very few indigenous african companies and when you don’t produce, you don’t create jobs and without jobs, you have high unemployment and high poverty rates.

India has poverty, but you see how their economy is changing – they have home grown global companies (tata industries, wipro, infosys, steel companies, etc, etc.). I know Kenya’s economy is growing as well, but how long can a countries economy really go without a manufacturing base, without home grown businesses that are part of the global economy and without exports that do not include agricultural commodities?

  19. Nelius on November 16, 2007 at 5:02 am

where are magnate ventures, esther Passaris, Paul Ndungu, Sam jairu, etc?

  20. KE on November 16, 2007 at 10:55 am

I don’t know? what do you know about them? should they be on the list? we already mentioned paul ndungu in the comments section.

    Who is sam jairu?

  21. moses on November 21, 2007 at 10:13 am

what about WILLIAM KABOGO.i think the guy is very rich.Try to visit our neighbours UGANDA.Have ever had the multi millionare ($) who wanted to buy LEEDS UNITED in U.K.What do you have to say about that

  23. timmo on December 8, 2007 at 7:56 am

where the hell is passaris, pattni, njenga karume(i hear this guy is major in EABL) and me thinks moi and family is more than that judging by the kroll report jonathan moi is worth $770million what about moi himself and jonathan’s 4bros?

  25. bogz on January 7, 2008 at 10:05 am

According to ireeputable sources Kabogo is said to be worth over $10,000,000. This is wealth that has been increasing by the day, from the Nakumatt stores, container Depots and income from Real Estate. It is also said that he owns most Of riverside, through dummy Companies.
Wow if i had 10 mil USD, i’d also get me on of those Choppaz!!!!

  26. bena on January 7, 2008 at 10:18 am

Ati 10, that KAfogo guy is worth like 1.5Billion USD, yeah he’s that rich, calculate the cost of a chopper, its like 2 m USD, and that Jet that he has is abt 10mil USD. Talk about cash man.

  27. Anonymous on January 23, 2008 at 12:49 pm

This Kabogo man is said to be so rich….We are talking Nakumatt, Village Market, Inland Port in Athi River, His Choppers and Jets, Massive land in Nairobi….Worth hundreds of Millions….Not to mention his palatial Nyali, riverside, muthaiga and ruiru homes.

A very reputable source says he is worth over 1 billion US dollars

  28. masakarua on January 29, 2008 at 3:47 pm

  32. Ngui ya Folithi on April 5, 2008 at 9:12 am

You cant leave behind this Citizen guy out S.K Macharia mathugumo i do know if the spelling is ok, but you all rember during the Moi days he was said to be worth 2 billion and now with all those media houses he might have broke that record.

  33. Anonymous on April 20, 2008 at 9:08 pm

You all have far too much time on your hands! And speaking as the son of one of those mentioned above, this ‘guess work’ is totally off!

  34. Jonny Swaggs on April 23, 2008 at 5:03 am

I think it is safe to say that there are at least 100 Kenyans worth between $20million and $1.5 billion.

About Kabogo I think you are confusing ostentation and wealth. The guy is wealthy, but he is also young and naturally he wants to showing off.

A 4 seater chopper doesn’t cost $10million, one can lease a Chopper from SA for about than $100,000/yr including insurance and qualified Pilot. One can charter a Gulfstream 3 (10yr old plane) for about $20,000/week from SA GulfStream lease agencies.

I would give Kabogo about $5 million, because a lot of his other investments are mixed up with his father in Law (mwau) investments.

The lesson is, get a rich girl and kiss her dads behind.

  35. Does Notmatter on April 26, 2008 at 12:51 pm

Kabogo is not married to Mwau’s Daughter and i am sick and tired of everybody messing up his CV for nothing. He was once a business ally of Mwau.

  36. the others on May 11, 2008 at 9:19 pm

Dont forget upcountry trillionaire landlords. Hapa in Eldy we have d very strangely wealthy Nyairo family who started off as lawyers but own a quarter of d town now and homes abroad. Alfred Nyairo has passed through over 400 million shillings in the time I have worked at an international bank.

  37. one day!! on May 24, 2008 at 12:04 am

There pple in coast who are very loaded…theres Ali punjani , this guy gambles 50 million shillings a night and looses it all and feels nothin..the next day is back at the casino he is worth alot…from bently sport , porsche kayan S500 new model, 4 rane rovers….a private jet…wht can we say

  38. myself on May 24, 2008 at 1:24 pm

‘ The others’ quit hiding behind anonymity if anything you say about ‘upcountry trillionaires’ has any fraction of truth…. own a quarter of Eldoret indeed. And homes abroad… oh, how we wish. As for the 400 million, where is your proof? Shameless and foolishly jealous coward wasting your precious time hating others on the basis of pure fiction!!! It is lies like these that have inflammed passions in that unfortunate town calle Eldoret. And by the way, there are 3 people, not 1, who go by the name Alfred Nyairo. Which one are you talking about????

  39. Nyairolet on May 25, 2008 at 3:07 pm

‘The others’ Its amazing how one can provide information with such obvious maliciousness and proclaim it to be truth. Even with the 3 Alfred Nyairo’s you failed to mention, do you even know how large the Nyairo family is? I will speak for myself and say, If ‘we’ are 400 million rich, how is it that I am living paycheck to paycheck…, how is it that I work from 6 am to 5 pm to make a living, if my family are ‘trillionares’ I should be sitty pretty. To say this is beyond absurd, is an understatement, and the only reason ‘the others’ would make a statement like that is to encourage hate in an already troubled Eldoret town.

I thought as kenyans we should be wise on how we submit our comments….it cost nothing to be a highly ethical person in giving out your comments….otherwise a check measure should be put in place to filter out informations that carry no moral intention. About the wealth of individuals….well I suggest that we should atleast start with ourselves first before guessing and speculating on other peoples wealth. For me I guess I have accumulated close to 20,000

  48. DCL on July 4, 2008 at 3:06 am

    Hi Guys,

I have read some of your posts and i would like to bring in some sanity to the discussion. I strongly advocate for coming up with a Kenya Rich List with profiles of each candidate. We should all contribute and amend what has already been put up.

I for one have researched on info e.g. NSE’s Top 100 millionaires and yes, the likes of Paul Wanderi Ndungu, feature prominently. Historical money like that of the Kenyattas should also make its way into the list as well as political & wealer dealer money from the Saitoti’s, Pattni’s, Biwott’s, Kafogos etc.

No forgetting the new money coming in from the likes of the Somens, Makatiani, John Mwangi’s, Sam Kairo etc.

I would be pleased to contribute my 2cents on who i think are the top 100 richest and would like you guys to include profiles on what they own, how they made their cash etc.

  49. benja on July 10, 2008 at 3:14 pm

:i have not seen mr j… my father anyway i dont blame you because you were guesing.

  50. Nyairolet on July 11, 2008 at 9:14 pm

I think this a dangerous game you guys are playing that is not taking into account any kind of facts. Do you realise that these folks have kids and this could place not just the person listed but their children in harms way? If you have never had your car jacked at gun point and have to beg the thief to let you get your kids from the back seat, if you have never been jacked again at gun point and thrown out like garbage in Karura forest meanwhile having the theives discuss very calmly whether to spare your life or not, its hard to understand what most might see as amusement, may be dead serious to someone else. I’m sure this site was created to have valid debate on issues, but I would ask that unless you have hard facts, please refrain from using someone’s name.

  51. msemakweli on July 17, 2008 at 7:44 am

In Africa particulary this part of the East you can’t be gainfully wealthy without political links trust me Moi & Kulei, Kabogo& Mwau, Kibaki & Mt. Kenya Mafias. the list is enormous Remember the dude who wired some billions from the states to some local bank and Amos wako incollabo with other gova were on his case. So Some peice of advice f ur as young as I am and have prospects of being in the list in the future which can only be by Kuangukia from nowhere join any of the ongoing party recruitment Most of this dudes started at the grassroots.

Moi is worth $12 billion, he bought $2billion worth of propertes in Germany in 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell, only the 3 hotels in London are worth over $1billion, Phillip Moi owns the Hyatt in Portman Square, London, formerly the Churchill Hotel, it has 1000 rooms, and per room it is worth at least £500,000, this is where the Goldenberg money went. Moi has trading screens at his house in Kabarak, where hundreds of millions of dollars of currency and commodity trades are done on a daily basis, Merali helped him set it up. Merali is worth at least $100million. Somaia worth minus, it was all Moi’s money. Pattni is also worth nothing, it was all Phillip Moi’s money, Grand Regency was his commision for stealing nearly $1.5billion, and even that was taken away from him, he was a “houseboy” for Phillip, I know him quite well. Biwott is worth more than $1.5billion, and Kenyatta Family the same. Kibaki is probably around $400-500million. I know all this because I was close to Moi’s son, thankfully I refused to do business the way he wanted me to, I have enough of my own money and dignity, without having to resort to stealing or acting as someone’s briefcase carrier, that is where family dignity comes in. I have not come back to Kenya, due to the corrupt practices, although I was born there and love the country and people.

People like Moi don’t deal with Kenya Shillings. They deal with dollars. Did you read the Kroll report, which I attached above?

I recall watching a BBC interview with uhuru kenyatta where he was specifically asked how much his family was worth and he painfully managed to mutter out the words: “oh…about $10 million dollars”, which was a complete lie. It’s probably 40 times that amount.

Read the Kroll report above. You’ll be astounded how much money these people have stolen.

    Hi

its nice to see that the new programme to introduce internet into mental institutions including mathare has really taken its toll, the person who said that moi is worth $12 bilion is trying to pull a fast one on us, if u go to forbes.com, the 12th richest guy in the world is worth $11.5 billion, so unless you are trying to tell us that moi is the 11th richest guy in the world, u must be crazy.

i dont want to say that i may know who the richest guys are but i believe the moi’s and the biwotts must be somewhere on top of the list.

let me say of those i know, first of, kabogo’s wife is harun mwau’s daughter, i know it coz i know the oplitician personally, and secondly, his choppers are not leased, i have seen documentation of certificates of airworthiness of those aircraft and they are all kabogos. they are even registered under his name, and they even have kenyan aircraft registration numbers, u cant lease a plane from s.a and give it kenyan numbers.

the dude, as per my approximates, must be worth close to $ 800,000,000 (eight hundred million)

    ama?

  82. Lets Think on March 20, 2009 at 6:49 pm

So All who say the know these people personally i believe are liars..
    Secondly
    This is for # ti-kwenda-gwakwa

I believe you have no idea to what you are saying, Kabogo’s Wife is not realted to Harun Mwau aka The BOSS, i know this because i am a dear friend to th Kabogo’s and Mwaus.

Now, don’t you think as sensible adults we should stop bickering around like old ladies on how the world is cruel, and start using our heads.

I think this list whether genuine or not is all a clear explanation of what is going on in our beloved country.

I have been looking and rich lists in America and Europe and if you compare them to ours you will be surprised to learn the obvious difference.

In America and Europe, the POLITICIANS dont even make the top 200 on the rich list, but have a look at ours, Its bloody full of POLITICIANS.

The only explanation I think is our MWANAINCHI money is what is making our POLITICIANS rich.

  89. DCL on April 20, 2009 at 6:26 am

People, people…some objectivity and possitivity here. Other countries have Rich Lists, why the hell can’t Kenya? The richlist will serve as a foundation that will determine the character of money makers through kenya’s history. Obviously the first post independence guys were politicians but i think political connections, land, parastatals and the stock exchange will diminish as possible avenues for catalytic wealth creation. I believe the list will evolve over time to bring in innovators and clear cut entrepreneurs. I forsee this list being as inspiring as the Forbes List, the Asia 1000 Rich List and many similar ones.

C’mon, lets stop bickering about who got what where and start coming up with the list. I for one believe that anyone with less than KES1bn will probably never end up in the top 1000 in Kenya.

    Back to work, y’all!!!

  90. Kenyan rich on April 20, 2009 at 9:15 am

LOL….manu chandaria is worth only $10m….that is like peanuts….just all the properties he owns (around the world) alone is worth over $150m!

I think this estimates have no basis whatsoever…..You cannot just value people at the top of your head!

  91. david on April 20, 2009 at 9:33 am

Our politicians are our celeb’s…thats why they make the news daily…as for how they mostly end up with the cash….power politics=political appointments=parastatals & government senior positions=control as to how budget resource {budget–over 600 Billion} is to be spent and thro which companies tenders. thats how we can explain guys who have been politicians since the 60′s, who have never worked for any public or private company yet they are now worth billions……..Their is a catch….thro the bible or other Holy Bks and the laws of nature this resources will not pass thro to the forth generation of this “crooks” . Having been mature in the 60′s and with toi’s then, their forth generation kids must be in their teens or mid to late 20′s and those resources shall now have to go back somehow….if u are a decendant make your own cash otherwise you are bound to suffer in many ways …love..health etc.. or setup charities and give the needy ..IDP’s min 10% of whatever u have inherited. As for us who are not part of those doomed offsprings be prepared to own a piece of the wealth by being smart upstairs and work hard. dont be tempted to go their way. this will surely happen in our times. Other countries ie the states or older states had this kind of people and as stated above they offsprings are nowhere now. infact some of the ones who stole the most in the 60′s are now suffering in Debt. come join me in creating a new force…an equity fund and we make our clean cash that can be maintained thro time…www.eastcoastkenya.blogspot.com

  93. ken on May 7, 2009 at 5:26 am

well well well talking of kenyan rich families or pple, think is way, all around the world, the list of richest pple are normally politicians, eg. at the States, Bill gates was never a senetor, Trump, Oprah, the darlings… the list is endless, ranging the Bush family thier happen to be not published. What this means is that, Kenyan leaders took your chance, you childrens education (by keeping reducing teachers pay), farmers yeld but kept the top cream to themselves. richness is not everything if you fear God (i am not saying it is bad to be rich, but get it the right way) therefore, i can not view Kenyan list of richest pple at any time. promises, promises promises but no where to run to but thank God.

    God bless Kenya

Who is Nat Kangethe and where does his money come from?

Someone needs to investigate transcentury investments. Those guys are literally milking the country.

They’re a lot of other people with money whose names will never be publicly known unless of course we name them here

Alan I am just curious at how you arrived at the figure of Ksh 124Trillion from mentioning US$ 1.5billion. If you multiply US$12Billion with an exchange rate of 1$ = 80Ksh you get Ksh 960billion. It is possible that this guys could have this money. Remember even the Forbes list is not completely accurate. At the time of his death Mobutu Seseko had US$ 6Billion. With a much bigger Kenyan economy Moi could indeed have that much. Though I suspect it is more like US$1.2billion.

  97. Moneybags on May 13, 2009 at 8:31 pm
Moi could indeed have that much. Though I suspect it is more like US$1.2billion.

Gideon alone is worth like $700 million dollars according to wikileaks and the kroll report.

Kenyatta has said his networth is about $10 million, but I don’t know if that just includes cash and not all the properties.

Biwott is probably sitting on a good $500 million dollars if not more.

  98. SIR BEN on May 21, 2009 at 11:19 am

What do you think about Nelson Muguku, does he fit to be in this list? :?:

  99. Anony Kenyan on May 23, 2009 at 2:06 pm

Seek he first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you!

We all go through life not realizing what God’s purpose for designing us….those who make the millions you talk of and give them away – have figured out the purpose of life (eg. Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, etc). Those who made that money legally and fairly – will be blessed even more when they give and use what they’ve been blessed with wisely.

God wants us to enjoy life in this world – but through discovering the purpose he has for us. No matter what religion you are – you are more blessed by giving. Remember you cannot leave this world with this wealth! But you can surely leave your family with curses and generational issues, even if you’ve left them with your wealth.

Discover your purpose in this world and you will not only be happy but eternally successful!

Fisher Island, Fla., and Troy, Mich.
    Bharat Desai

How’d he get so rich? Desai is the co-founder and CEO of Syntel, a multibillion-dollar information technology company headquarted in Troy, Mich. The Kenyan-born, Indian-educated Desai was one of the early technology outsourcing leaders and divides his time between Troy, Fisher Island, Mumbai, and Syntel’s new 1,800-acre campus in Pune, India. Desai has a fortune estimated at $1 billion.

    Roy;

That’s an interesting catch. It looks like Desai and his family fled Kenya when he was 11 for India.

According to this link, his father thought that they’d be trouble in kenya for Indians once africans took over the country at independendence and he decided to move his family to india.

I don’t know if his father was just a racist or if he was smart. I think maybe a little bit of both.

given this background, I don’t know if he is really kenyan. He is a u.s. citizen and probably has indian citizenship as well and he grew up in india, not kenya.

they r very small, it seems like u have not seen money in your life.

i am one of the very rich guys compared to those figures, and i know over 100 people that are much richer than me.

but definately, kenyatas family is the richest in kenya, its got a lot of wealth in 1st world countries.

moi’s family is also very rich, he owns the largest farm in Western australia. $1.2billion is just close to its value, imagine the wealth in kenya.

people kenya has a lot of money, the best way to make it is thru production of agricultural goods.

land is very cheap, start farms u will b rich in a few years. this will drive out food scarcity and also create a lot of jobs.

Ok, too many people are cursing out on their comments yet the author sent a disclaimer that it was ‘pure guesswork’.

Personally I’ve been searching the net trying to find out who Kenya’s wealthiest are and this post is a start. So for those who KNOW that kenyanentrepreneur is off with his facts, u either get off ur asses and find something better to do rather than bickering as an ‘anonymous’ person OR start ur own post on Kenya’s wealthiest and please feed my wanting to know mind.

For those who claim to ‘know’ some of these people personally and have access to some of their documents, please update this post.

Are there no rich women in this country of ours? SMH…. :???:
ANYWAY….kenyanentrepreneur thank you for the glimpse into our richest!

its not that easy.It entails searching the companies registry to know who owns what company;searching the land registries to know who owns what land and in what names;searching KRA to find out on their tax returns-assuming that we are dealing with “clean people”;searching to find who owns what in foreign countries;etc, etc you need the cash of Carlos Slim and the time like idlers have to conduct a meaningful research. I tend to feel that there are wealthy people who will rarely hit the headlines-the Triton guy,the Meralis of Kenya too.How I wish Mariga signed up for Man City.He would have easily made to the top in terms of earnings per month/week-with clean money.

i know for somebody to have come up with an idea of visiting this site, he/she must have a certain attitude about money. it is true that we all dream to be wealth come tomorrow. this guys listed here might have got their money in ways which we may not approve but we should all forge ahead and plan our ways out of poverty. I like the guy who said something to do with DONALD THRUMP. He made money by an art of Discipline. If you have to succeed in anything, you have to be disciplined with money invested.
I was at this site last year(2009) and got motivated. Truly i have seen my bank account grow fat.if we all take the positive outlook, of this site, we wont be blaming each other tomorrow that so & so is a thieve. well they will live all the money behind but ask yourself, will your children benefit from what they left behind? it pays to work hard to get what you want.
    God Bless Kenya.
    God Bless you.

10 Billionaires and 40 million beggers is more like what JM Kariuki (Himself a millionaire) would say today. The fight and bile should not be between who has and who does not have but each individual focusing on improving his circumstances despite the prevailing cirmcumstances. We spend too much of our time trying to fight guys with big money instead of spending the same time earning some quality experience in relevant skills that give us an edge

YOUR ESTIMATES ARE VERY WRONGH AND MISLEADING HOW kenyatta ‘s family cant be worth 700m, considering they own 10% of the land roughly the size of nyanza province they also own brookside ,and other companies plus several flats in london you need to do some more research before you come up with such fallacies

well well well talking of kenyan rich families or pple, think is way, all around the world, the list of richest pple are normally politicians, eg. at the States, Bill gates was never a senetor, Trump, Oprah, the darlings… the list is endless, ranging the Bush family thier happen to be not published.

Not interested in the policians who have stolen to make it big how about a list of businessmen who have made it big excluding politicians it would help to give the kenya youth hope that if you implement a business and make it happen it can work.
Put a list of people who bring hope i must admit i read the forbes and im perplexed that there is alot that life has to offer. I admire the entreprenuers of the west but again that is where we are headed and we still have many clean businessmen who have made it!! Not politicians coz they are thieves not businessmen!!
