Will-Kill Router Is At It Again….

I’m sorry.  I lied.  I have to get back to discussing politics because my favorite person in the world is back to his old antics.  Yes, once again, Will-Kill Router (that’s his nickname on this blog because he likes to “willingly“  “kill” people and “route” them from their farms). Let’s continue on…

Now, you see, old Willy wasn’t quite satisfied with just chopping people’s head’s off with machetes.  Nope.  That was too easy.  He’s found another way to kill people and this time, he’s decided to starve them to death.   I am beginning to wonder if  Ruto’s cockiness is now bordering on insanity.  Did he think he could get away with putting almost 10 million Kenyans at risk of starvation and not get caught?

They are now various stories in the weekly dailies that are directly linking him to this famine and based on what I’ve read, I would summarize the whole saga this way:

The strategic reserves had about 2.6 million in storage.

1 million bags went missing and now, the speculation is that Ruto signed orders that forced the managers at the cereals board to sell these 1 million bags at a discounted price to favored “buddies” and business associates of Ruto.

These friends of Ruto then re-sold their discounted maize to various millers at double the price they had originally paid for them and in the process, were able to realize a  significant profit (bought @1,750; sold @2,600).

However, since some millers did not get special favors from Ruto, they were forced to buy the maize at the artificially inflated prices from Ruto’s business associates who were now in possession of 1 million bags of maize. Left with no alternative, they bought the maize @2,600 shillings and naturally passed on their extra costs to the consumers.  That’s why the price of unga doubled from Ksh. 55 to Ksh. 130.

This sudden and precipitous price increase meant that many people were simply unable to afford maize.  So they stopped buying it.  Now, when this happened, the government should have “unlocked” it’s grain reserves and began a system of food distribution.  However, when they decided to do this, they realized that there was a shortfall (1 million bags were missing)….and that is when they horned in on Ruto.

An additional question however, is why the government even allows anyone to buy grains from the strategic reserve.  If that maize is meant for emergencies, then it should not be sold to anyone at all.  Doesn’t the government have machines to grind it’s own maize? If not, they should buy them – because this would presumably prevent situations like we have now — situations where the government is forced to sell maize to unscrupulous millers simply because it doesn’t have the tools to grind the stuff itself.

** I was having drinks with some friends a few weeks ago and one of them mentioned that Ruto’s father committed suicide after the post-election violence.  Apparently, the people in Eldoret went to his house to inquire about the whereabouts of “their boys” — were they in prison, were they dead? what? and if they were dead, they at least wanted their bodies back so that they could give them a proper burial.  Ruto’s father, couldn’t face these people and he supposedly killed himself.

The other bizarre story was that Ruto’s wife went mad after the violence — come to think of it, has anyone seen pictures of Ruto and his wife in public lately? or even ever?

What is going on with this guy?

When politicians start believing their own spin, the only way is downhill. He has clearly been smoking his own supply, and really believes he’s untouchable.

    Kei O,

Router will do anything to gain power and protect his lot.

Raila got a big problem in his hands… I’m sure if he ditches Routher then … Routher will mobilize all Kale’s vote against Raila….

Everybody is waiting…. So lets see what happens… Again, Raila might not let him go.

  7. BUT… make his bitches (incl jackson kibor) pay back the MILLIONS they stole while being fake ‘businessmen’…

I told Kenyans… (I am sorta embarrassed calling myself a Kenyan when we BEG for food aid while my countrymen steal it…)… that maize subsidies are a BAD idea & will lead to corruption.

And I have been proved right. Again. The ‘cheap’ maize was a sideshow while the crooks did their thing. In less than 2 months, the price of maize flour will be as high as it ever was. if not higher.

  8. CT:
Is the price of maize across the entire country subsidized or does the NCPB impose a minimum price only on the maize they purchase for the strategic reserves? i.e. if you grow maize, can you sell it to anyone inside or outside the country for any price? and will only run into a price control issue if you have to sell it to the NCPB?

    KE,
Ruto held a baraza @ his house in Eldoret with Kalenjin elders. No media allowed. Why do these crooks always retreat to their tribal cocoons whenever in trouble? About the maize saga, these briefcase millers actually bought the grain cheaper than NCPB paid the farmers for it. But do NCPB care? ain’t their money anyway. Its all public. Ati Kibor bought 100 000 bags and never even collected it,sold it to Mombasa millers and they even incured the costs of transportation. The Nyayo era is back! For the Kale youths, next time Kibor asks you to evict your neighbors, ask yourself how much of the maize millions he shared with you. If none, then tell him to go fuck himself!

  10. KE: NCPB pays 2,300 for maize from farmers (or friends)… it sells it to millers (or friends) at 1,750/-…

So what jackson kibor (buddy of ruto) did was buy the maize at 1,750 & sell it immediately to Mombasa Millers for 2,600/-…

Now… only people supposedly ‘allowed’ to buy cheap/subsidised maize are millers who then sell Unga at a lower cost… well… JK is not a miller!

ATI KIBOR, Is Ruto’s bitch ?…lol that’s funny but tru, I’m sure those Ruto “Biatches” are the ones who paid to buy the MPs to avoid censure.

This guy Ruto has 9 lives kweli…when u think you have him, voila!! like in Kiinimacho, he pops a trick up his sleeve!!! aarrrggg
