Who’s this guy Mohammed Adow? I know he’s Somali, but I’m not sure if he grew up in Kenya or Somalia. Anyway, he’s done a good job with his reporting on kenya.

How in God’s name do you move up financially in Kenya? There’s virtually no upward mobility!

  1. “For many years, it did not occur to me that it might be important that I was from Central Province, that perhaps it was not an accident that I did so well in school; that my fortune in having, for a mother, one of the most extraordinary human beings it has been my privilege to know was pre-arranged by historical injustice—none of this seemed important to me, because it did not seem to me that I had been given any Kikuyu-flavoured breaks or Kikuyu-tinged advantages. 2. KE,
Thanks for posting this YOUTUBE video. What a shame! I am really sad at what is happening in our country. In the past 15 years, what has Hon. Odinga done in his constituency? I doubt he has even bothered to ever build a kiosk let alone build the nation. I truly believe the politicians have left this place as a slum so that they could use these poor people for their gains.

  3. aKenyan,
Either you are a disgrace to the Kikuyu tribe, an impostor or a beneficiary of past corruption. I have stated before that most hawkers are Kikuyus. Their capital as that of many Kenyans is minimal. But since they have an enterpreneurial spirit, they take the risk of being caught by Council askaris and sell their wares. That way they are able to make a living. Chief many Kikuyus live in abject poverty. Go to Mathare and see for yourself. Most street children are Kikuyus. Then you have the guts to imply that these people benefitted from the fact that their community has produced 2 presidents. You got to be kidding.

    Stop being a kikuyu apologist!
